As part of our contribution and preparation for Carers Week 2023, we have been developing and sharing our support for Carents across the UK.

Download our free eBooklet

We have recently launched our free eBooklet – “Essential tips for Carents to plan for that unexpected emergency” – which you can download free. It covers nine common scenarios which can affect adults in later life and provides practical tips to help prevent or minimise the related risks. There are sections on wandering and dementia, emergency hospital admissions, organising personal care, preventing scams and so much more. These tips can help you keep your loved ones safe and well – take a look!

Join the Carents Lounge

After all your requests for more opportunities to connect with others in similar situations, we have also launched our Carents Lounge Facebook group. It aims to be a safe space for Carents to share their experiences, find resources and advice, and receive emotional support. Whether you are looking for practical caregiving tips, a listening ear, or just a place to offload, Carents Lounge is here for you.

Wellbeing support

We are continuing to work closely with the Internet of Caring Things at the National Innovation Centre for Ageing to further develop our wellbeing package of support for carents. The relationships will help us access detailed user feedback which we can use to design and tailor our support to meet your needs. We will bring you more news as this exciting programme develops.

NGN community open day

The photograph features members of The Carents Room team at the Northern Gas Networks annual community stakeholder open day in Newcastle. It was a great day for networking, displaying The Carents Room and sharing our growing collection of resources and expertise.
