In August 2026, 665 members of the Carents community responded to the government's Carer's Allowance Call for Evidence. Today, we submitted every word. This is what they told us, and the ten changes we asked for on their behalf.
For a parent living with dementia, mainstream television can quickly become confusing, distressing or simply too hard to follow. My Life TV is a streaming service developed with dementia-specific principles, what it contains, why it is different from YouTube or Netflix, and how carents can try it with their parent at home or in a care home.
Andy Burnham knows what carenthood looks like from the inside. His father is living with Alzheimer's and requires care. We hope that personal knowledge shapes the reform he is promising. 89% of carents say support only arrives once things have broken down.
