Supporting Carents in the workplace

Line drawing of a cup of tea with a heart on it

We were delighted to support the staff Thrive sub group “Parents and carers” at Cadent Gas who delivered a “Lunch and Learn” session focusing on recognising and supporting  carents.

Cadent has almost  6,000 employees and, as is the case in many organisations, a growing proportion of them are acting as carents, juggling caring responsibilities with work commitments.

The lunchtime session included a personal story from one of their employees followed by a presentation from our Founder, Jackie followed be a Q&A session.  Jackie stayed on to speak to individual carents and answer their questions.

Great session really helpful – and thanks Mike for sharing your personal story at the start must have been very difficult!

Throughout the day, employees could meet members of the Thrive team and access a variety of information about carenting  including our own leaflets and ebooklet.

Brilliant session, thank you

Jackie introduced the resources available in The Carents Room and covered a number of carenting topics including:

  • The Carenting generation
  • Common Carenting pathways
  • Practical Carenting
  • Thriving whilst carenting

It was a pleasure to meet the team who made us extremely welcome and it was wonderful seeing an organisation so committed to recognising and supporting their employees in this way.
